Sunday DIY : Curly Hair Mask

Its Sunday again! Brunch, Rosé, and the Spa is all I think about. Sadly, I have a ton of work to do and I'm currently stuck in Providence, but I rather be in NYC having brunch with my girlies or my love! However, I promised myself that I was going to use this months full moon energy to embrace a more positive perception. I'm typically overly optimistic, but sometimes a little stress causes negative thoughts here and there and the effects of stress can be seen on your hair. Yuck! So, I decided to take advantage of the fact that I'm finally back home, and a DIY hair mask was way overdue. I have type 3C curly hair which needs lots of moisturizing love, but sometimes traveling all the time prevents me from providing all the love my hair needs. Sometimes I don't want to carry a bulky container with me or sometimes I only leave the mask on my hair for a short period of time due to time constraints. Bleh! I know, a bunch of excuses. Since I'm back home, I figured it was the perfect Sunday for an all day DIY hair mask!

1 cup of Coconut oil

*Tablespoon of each*

Castor Oil

Avocado Oil

Jojoba Oil

Rosemary Oil

Cinnamon Oil

Sweet Almond Oil

Hazelnut Oil

Vitamin E

Mix and heat up all the oils together and then massage it on your hair starting from the ends to the scalp. Leave on all day and wash out the following day.

I always wash my hair with my DevaCurl Buildup Buster

once a month, and the first Sunday of the month is just perfect! The Buildup Buster is a very powerful cleanser and this weekend is all about cleansing the old and embracing the new, yes even with my hair! After I wash my hair, I let it air dry for about 15 minutes before I apply the hair mask instead of drying it with a towel. I find that by doing that, I eliminate water from dripping down my neck throughout the day. A microfiber hair towel is a great alternative for drying your hair without causing frizz. I also use the Devacurl No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser 1x week on my regular wash day.

xoxo, Mel
