What is WTF Creative?
We are a creative consultancy with passionate and experienced industry gals - specializing in branding identity, strategy, and design.
The chill vibes of my hometown keep me grounded as I maneuver through the chaotic culture of the city I love. Media, sales, and advertising are my pillars but you can say I’ve been fortunate enough to be exposed to the bigger picture which is the entrepreneurial hustle.
When I’m not wandering the streets of NYC, I can be found pursuing my lifelong love of letters and drawing as an Art Director in advertising. In addition to being a design freak, I also get pretty jazzed about traveling, vintage finds, and eating my way through this city.
I’m a creative by day, dog mom by night. Driven by individuality and a love for storytelling, the best part of my job is helping others tell their story. On my free time you can find me exploring the city searching for good food, music, and wine.
Who inspires you today, and why?
Small business owners. Not only do small businesses inspire us, they’re a big reason WTF Creative was established. Turning a passion into a business takes a lot of commitment, sacrifice, and work. We believe in that entrepreneurial spirit. As a team, we’re here to help their brand vision become a reality. We’ve had privilege to work first hand with some great up and coming brands.
Walk me through the step-by-step process that you went through to get where you are today. What was the first thing you did? Next?
Before business partners, we’re friends. We were having dinner and drinks in Soho one evening, and after one or two margaritas, WTF was spoken into existence. It really was that simple for us. Our professional goals are very much aligned, and going from friends to business partners was a pretty seamless transition. It took about three months to get up and running. About a month after we launched our website, we were meeting with our first potential client.
How do you structure your days?
No two days are created equally - every client is different from the next. The way we structure each day depends on our client’s needs.
We were able to quickly identify each other’s strong suits allowing us to work nimble, efficient, and agile. Due to the nature of our business, sometimes we work remotely but in constant communication with each other. It’s extremely important for us to keep each other in the loop, no matter how big or small the current project may be.
What is your biggest challenge?
As a team of three and first-time business owners, we only have each other to lean on. We are fully responsible for coming up with the best solutions for our clients and the WTF brand. Every decision we make affects the future of our company. At the end of the day, this can be scary but mostly exciting!
What surprising lessons have you learned along the way?
We live and die by google drive.
A good meeting spot is key.
We are stronger together – we accomplish more together than apart. (WTF on 3?!)
